We Know Muscle Cars!
As you have likely noticed on other pages on this site, as well as the banner image above, Muscle Cars are one of the areas in which we are considered experts in East Tennessee. Muscle car is a term that became commonly used since the mid-60s to describe two door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving ... at least that is how the Merriam-Webster Dictionary explains it. If you recall from movies like American Graffiti, Hot Rods was the term used for the muscle cars of the decades preceding the mid-60s. With the re-introduction of the Dodge Charger as a four-door sedan that can pack up to 700+ horsepower under the hood in the Hellcat edition, perhaps the dictionary should reconsider the definition to include four door cars as well. Dodge certainly re-wrote the definition when they unleashed the new Chargers. Regardless, we repair and restore muscle cars.
Throughout this website you have seen numerous examples of muscle cars repaired, restored and modernized. Take a look at the Camaro show in the image below. This '76 still had the 350 CID 5.7 Liter V8. (The next generation, During the early to mid 1980s, the emissions control regulations forced automobile manufacturers to take the muscle out of muscle cars. Camaros and Firebirds were limited from '82 to '84 came with 4-cylinder engines, 2.8L V6s, with the 305 CID V8 being introduced in '85 with the 350 CID returning in '87.)
Of course you noticed the elevated hood. That is not just for show. When you open the hood of this car you will see a powerhouse, as shown in the image below. If you saw the first Transformers movie, the original "Bumblebee" was a 1976 edition - paint this one yellow with black stripe and it would look the same.
Even if you have a Camaro or Firebird that is a decade older than this one, they may still wear the Z28 or Trans Am monikers, but its like the skinny guys wearing the tee-shirts with a body builder image on the front, but underneath, the muscle isn't there. So, if you have a "muscle car" of the past in which Detroit took the muscle out of the car, we can help. Come see us to have your muscle car live up to its potential.
